Railroad Services

Pinnacle Engineering’s team of experts understands the unique challenges and complexities of the railroad industry, owning every project we undertake. We assist railroad companies by providing services that span all parts of day-to-day operations. Our team works closely with our rail clients to support their ongoing efforts – including compliance, permitting, investigation, clean-up, and response.

Our goal is to continue to build upon our reputation of delivering high-quality services, maintaining open and responsive communications, and providing cost-effective solutions that consistently meet our client’s needs.

Our expertise in transfer services extends from solid and liquid transfers to hazardous material and waste removal. Along with transfer and removal, we provide property services such as hazardous materials assessment, abatement oversight, mold remediation, water intrusion analysis, and property assessments for potential purchases. Our portfolio services help clients understand the risks and costs associated with asset management throughout the life cycle.

Navigating the complex landscape of environmental regulations can be challenging. Our experts are well-versed in the regulatory legal requirements governing the railroad industry. We provide comprehensive support in securing permits, ensuring compliance, and effectively managing environmental risks throughout the project lifecycle.

We offer innovative solutions to remediate and restore contaminated railroad sites. Through advanced techniques and technologies, we help mitigate soil and groundwater pollution, ensuring a safe and sustainable environment for both rail workers and surrounding communities.

We understand the critical importance of compliance and safety, especially in industries such as rail. That’s why we maintain US Approved OSRO (Oil Spill Removal Organization) certification with the US Coast Guard. This certification allows us to legally handle specific quantities of oil substances and offer emergency response services 24/7.

Pinnacle is a provider of 24/7 emergency response services to multiple Class 1 Railroads. Our dedicated team is prepared to tackle large and small-scale emergencies at a moment’s notice. We utilize advanced technologies (UAVs) to develop a common operating picture in the initial hours of a typical response. Our team has responded to 250+ major environmental/hazmat incidents over the last decade.

Pinnacle employs UAV technology that incorporates LiDAR-based survey capabilities. This allows for the rapid and accurate development of site-based documentation. These maps and surveys become the baseline documents that support engineering, hydraulics, stormwater and a variety of additional engineering services provided by Pinnacle.

Since 2017, Pinnacle Engineering has been providing emergency response and remedial field services at our outset and has met the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Oil Spill Removal Organization (OSRO) Classification Guidelines. Continually meeting and complying with these guidelines demonstrates our commitment to our clients in providing emergency response services that meet their needs.

Our services range from 24/7 response readiness, FRP Preparation, GRP Response Plans, Exercise Development, Site-Specific Training, Environmental Engineering, Investigation & Remediation, and UAS Services.

We conduct comprehensive environmental impact assessments to identify potential environmental risks and impacts associated with railroad projects. Our team of experts analyzes factors such as air and water quality, noise pollution, habitat disruption, and more. We focus on sustainable and eco-friendly solutions.

Pinnacle has extensive experience providing complete site restoration services. These services typically result from response-based projects. Pinnacle provides complete restoration services ranging from planning and permitting to construction and contractor management. We pride ourselves in being the people to shake the landowner’s hand when site restoration is complete.

We employ state-of-the-art monitoring techniques to track and evaluate the environmental performance of railroad operations. By continuously monitoring key indicators, we help identify potential issues and implement proactive measures to prevent pollution and protect natural resources.
