The Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990 brought promise of fewer toxins polluting our air. Instead 'permits to pollute' brought more regulations, more paperwork, and more testing.
As a highly recognized regional leader, Pinnacle helps clients plan and maintain air quality standards that meet increasingly stringent federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. Our multi-disciplined team incorporates all of our engineering services into recommended solutions for industrial manufacturers and Ethanol producers. We see to it that a facility is in compliance with current regulations, working on our client's side of the table to serve their best interests. Pinnacle engineers assist clients in facility air emissions permitting and in evaluating alternatives for reducing air emissions.
Pinnacle engineers assist in the permitting process by providing air quality monitoring services to their clients that meet OSHA compliance requirements. We will identify and analyze various operational alternatives that might be used to reduce your air permit requirements. Pinnacle utilizes the latest Federal rules and regulations software to quickly and accurately track regulatory trends, anticipate relevant issues, and respond effectively.
An emissions permit prepared by Pinnacle accurately represents facility operations and allows sufficient flexibility for business growth and change. A comprehensive and detailed report submitted with the proper application to the regulatory agency ensures a smooth permitting process. Pinnacle has completed a number of ethanol facility and related Air Pollution Construction Permit Applications for a variety of clients in the states of MN, WI, IA, SD, NE, IN, OH and KS in association with increased demand for renewable fuels.
Pinnacle's air permitting assistance includes the review of air emission reporting to determine compliance, reviewing compliance plans and developing the necessary engineering information to determine source compliance with specific state and federal air quality administration codes and statutes, and processing air pollution control permit applications.
Pinnacle’s permitting assistance includes:

Indoor air quality is an emerging service area for the environmental field. Most cases of indoor air quality problems begin with vague and often unconnected complaints. Pinnacle's staff includes industrial hygienists, mechanical, and chemical engineers. Their combined experience with air quality monitoring, sample collection, analysis, and interpretation methods; ventilation design and maintenance; and chemical properties and toxicity has created an effective team, helping building occupants and managers identify, control and remediate indoor air quality problems.
Pinnacle has completed numerous vapor and air quality monitoring surveys for a variety of criteria in industrial, commercial and clinical settings. In each of these settings the situation differs as to the cause behind the air quality issue. However, Pinnacle's project managers prepare a work scope based upon appropriate techniques defined in our standard operating procedure. Techniques used include visual inspection, infrared scan, moisture content readings, non-viable and viable air sampling, carbon dioxide measurement, swab sampling, interior and exterior observation, and inspection of cooling/heating systems and appropriate duct work.
