Pinnacle Engineering was hired by a concrete manufacturer to design and build a wastewater treatment system. The manufacture of concrete products generates significant amounts of wastewater from equipment cleaning. This wastewater, which can have high levels of fine particulate and be alkaline in nature, had historically been discharged to an onsite pond, but current environmental regulations no longer permit this.
Pinnacle designed a system that removed solids from wastewater as a dry cake, adjusted the pH of the water to levels suitable for discharge to the city’s limited-capacity wastewater treatment system, and recycled some of the water for use as wash down water for trenches and equipment (reducing the overall amount of water used at the facility).
As this client has grown, the system Pinnacle designed has been adapted to two other of the client’s facilities.
